U.S. Sweeps Gold in Rome

The United States completed its sweep of gold at the Rome Open winning the solo and team competitions on Sunday.

Anna Kozlova scored a 95.667 to top Italy's Lorena Zaffalon who posted a 92.333 to win the solo competition and capture her second gold medal of the Open. Kozlova and Alison Bartosik won the duet competition on Friday finishing 2.2 points ahead of Beatrice Spaziani and Zaffalon of Italy who turned in a score of 93.333. The duo of Magdalena Brunner and Belinda Schmid of Switzerland finished third scoring a 92.667.

Kozlova wasn't finished. She and her teammates went on to win gold in the team competition. The U.S. Team dominated the field posting a 97.333 to Brazil's 91.833. Switzerland finished third with a score of 89.333. The U.S. Team consists of Bartosik, Erin Dobratz, Mary Hofer, Becky Jasontek, Kozlova, Sara Lowe, Lauren McFall, Stephanie Nesbitt, Katie Norris, and Kendra Zanotto.

Next up for U.S. Team I is the FINA World Championships, July 13-19, in Barcelona, Spain.
