PNA Commandos Storm KEPA Awards

The Pacific Northwest Association's VII Esynchro Junior Worlds management team won two King County Event Producers Awards (KEPAs) from the Sports & Events Council of Seattle-King County in March. The annual event is an awards dinner to acknowledge outstanding achievement in event production, marketing and sponsorship.

The volunteer "Commandos," as they are oh-so-affectionately dubbed within the PNA, earned KEPAs in the categories of "Sports Event: Budget $25,000-$125,000" and "Best Volunteer-Managed Event". Other award winners included the Komen Race For The Cure, the waterfront festival SEAFAIR and the 2001 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

More than one hundred and twenty five entries were received in 2002. Awards are given out in fifteen categories. A panel of seven judges selects three finalists in each category. The evening program includes special awards chosen by KEPA sponsors and the President of Sports & Events Council of Seattle/King County.

Congratulations to the PNA, the staff of the Weyerhaeuser-King County Aquatic Center, and all the volunteers from across the country who made the Esynchro Junior World Championships the best ever! For more on the KEPA awards, visit www.seattlesports.eventscouncil.org/programs.cfm.
