U.S. SYNCHRO SWIMMING eVAMOR H 20 'O4 TEAM ANNOUNCES NEW “HONORARY CAPTAIN”
- Kansas City Synchro Coach Will Join Team in Athens-
METAIRE, La. – August 2, 2004 was a red, white and blue letter day for Marilyn Deister of Kansas City, Mo. That’s when the retired physical education teacher and founder of the Kansas City Sea Sprites learned she had won a spot as an honorary captain on the U.S. Synchronized Swimming Team from sponsor eVAMOR Alkaline Water. The overjoyed Ms. Deister will join the team at the XXVIII Olympiad in Athens, Greece from August 25 th – August 28 th.
“This is truly a dream come true!” exclaimed Ms. Deister. “We’re packing our red, white and blue attire, and our eVAMOR water to stay hydrated and balanced.” For the past 50 years, Ms. Diester has coached the Kansas City Sea Sprites, the oldest existing synchronized swimming team in the U.S.A under continuous coaching. She has led the KC Sea Sprites to numerous national competitions, and has even ranked within the top 10 world-wide in 2003. Deister will be accompanied by friend, fellow synchronized swimming coach and former Kansas City Sea Sprite swimmer, Linda Gilliam.

During June and July, eVAMOR conducted a sweepstakes to find an “Honorary Team Captain.” Ms. Deister was randomly selected from thousands of entries. As the winner of the eVAMOR Honorary Team Captain search Marilyn Deister was awarded roundtrip airfare for two, hotel accommodations, tickets to events, $1,000 spending money and a once in a lifetime opportunity.
