Senior Competition
Concludes in Cleveland
Cleveland, Ohio – The Senior portion of the 2008 U.S. Open Synchronized Swimming Championships wrapped up today concluding the event which took place at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. The event attracted more than 100 of the nation’s top synchronized swimmers as well as notable international talent from Brazil, Canada and Mexico. Athletes competed for titles in the solo, duet, trio, team and free combination events. The meet got underway on July 13 with the Junior portion of the event.
In the Senior solo final Cincinnati’s Lauren Robinson stole the show with an 83.083. In the duet final, Walnut Creek’s Mary and Anna Soto took home the gold medal with a mark of 84.833. In the team final, the Quebec Provincial Team claimed the top spot on the podium with an 85.333. In the free combination routine, the Arizona Aqua Stars grabbed the top spot with an 86.500.
