Clermont, Fla. - The 2005 U.S. Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships continued on Friday showcasing the duet competition. The meet kicked off on Thursday but will conclude a day early (Oct. 22) due to the threat of Hurricane Wilma. A revised championship schedule has been issued for Saturday.

Tallying the highest duet score was Sarah Beth Moorman and Erin King of MAC Synchro. The pair competed in the 20-29 Grandmaster division and finished with a score of 81.001. Moorman also finished out the solo competition with a top finish on the previous day.

The championship features over 200 of the nation's top Masters synchronized swimmers, ranging from 20-85+ years old, are competing for overall team and individual titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. The Masters championship began in 1975, making the 2005 event the 31st annual competition.

There are two divisions within each age group, Regular and Grandmaster. A Grandmaster denotes competitors who are previous national team members, national champions or national finalists in collegiate, junior or senior national events.

The championships will conclude on Saturday with the free trio event, team competition and the combo routines.
