Dayton Crowned High Point Champions Clermont, Fla. - The 2005 U.S. Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships concluded on Saturday as the Dayton Synchronettes were crowned the overall champions. MAC Synchro followed in second place while the Unsyncables grabbed the third spot. The trio events, team competition and combo routines wrapped up the last day of competition despite rain delays. The meet kicked off on Thursday but concluded a day early due to the threat of Hurricane Wilma. The top finish of the day in the trio event came from the Dayton Synchronettes, who competed in the 30-39 Grandmasters division and posted a score of 76.751. The trio consisted of Mary Kay Adams, Megan Kreill and Deborah Thoma. MAC Synchro took home top honors in the team competition as the group placed first in the 30-39 age group with a score of 78.417. Team members included Sarah Hansen, Jennifer Lexa, Hillary Moorman, Sarah Beth Moorman, Erin King, Carolyn Pullen and Jill Rebholz. The championship featured over 200 of the nation's top Masters synchronized swimmers, ranging from 20-85+ years old. Athletes competed for overall team and individual titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. The Masters championship began in 1975, making the 2005 event the 31st annual competition.
