2008 U.S. Collegiate
Synchronized Swimming Championships

Columbus, Ohio – The 32nd annual U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships will take place March 27-29 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University. The facility is no stranger to U.S. Synchronized Swimming as it previously hosted the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Synchronized Swimming.

More than 200 of the top athletes from the collegiate scene will vie for titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. The Championships are an open-class meet, combining competition from NCAA Divisions I, II , and III and NAIA colleges and universities.

Stanford University (Palo Alto, Calif.) will be in search of its fourth straight National Championship title while host team Ohio State University will be looking to add to its collection of 24 National Championships. Other top contenders include the University of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio, Texas) and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Birmingham, Ala.) who claimed third and fourth places respectively in 2007.

Stanford University boasts 2004 Olympians Sara Lowe (United States) and Courtenay Stewart (Canada) and 2006 U.S. National Team Member Poppy Carlig. Barbara Nesbitt of Ohio State was also a member of the 2006 U.S. National Team before joining the Buckeyes.
