Canada Sweeps First in Senior Free
San Diego, Calif.— The Canadians best the United States’ Senior teams in the free solo, duet, and team routines today, leading the competition into the Saturday’s finals at the Poway Community Swim Center in San Diego, Calif.
In the Senior duet free routine today, Canada placed first with the United States National Team II taking both second And third place. The New Canaan Y Aquianas placed fourth, rounding out the top contenders for Saturday’s duet senior finals.
Canada pulled ahead in the Senior free solo routine today, beating U.S. soloist, Barb Nesbitt, after she took first place in yesterday’s technical routine. Canada snagged third place as well, while the United States battled to fourth place.
In the team competition, Canada pulls ahead for the third competition of the day—leading the United States, who placed second, and the Walnut Creek Aquanuts who followed in third. The lone Kansas City Sea Sprites, who are the only team competing in the Senior trio, took first in the free routine again today.
Tickets are $10 at the door, Saturday, July 16 for the final round of Senior competition.
