Olympic Duet to Swim at SPEEDO Juniors
2004 Olympians to perform in Fort Collins

Anna Kozlova and Alison Bartosik earned their tickets to Athens on Jan. 18, winning the duet competition at the 2003 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Synchronized Swimming Duet to become the first two Olympians named to the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team.

SPEEDO will present the Olympic Duet's exhibition swim scheduled to perform at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the 2003 SPEEDO Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships in Fort Collins, Colo. Following their swim, Bartosik and Kozlova will sign autographs in the SPEEDO booth on location.

Kozlova, of St. Petersburg, Russia, and Bartosik, of Flagstaff, Ariz., were considered the early favorite for the duet Olympic bid after placing fourth at the 2002 FINA World Cup in Zurich in September.

"Going to the Olympics is an equally amazing and scary experience. I can't wait," said Kozlova, 30, a two-time Olympian who competed for the Unified Russian States in 1992 and the USA in 2000. The 2004 Olympic Games will be the first for Bartosik, 20, who has competed with Kozlova since November of 2001.

"Anna has taught me a lot over the past two years about competing internationally, and I look forward to learning a lot more as we build toward Athens," Bartosik said.
The pair are now training for the 2003 Japan Open, April 3-5 in Japan, and then for the 2003 World Championships, July 13-17 in Barcelona, Spain.

The 2003 SPEEDO Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships will be held at the Edora Pool and Ice Center in Fort Collins, Colo. More than 350 elite athletes ages 14-18 will vie for junior national titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. Also up for grabs are 10 roster spots on the 2003 U.S. Junior National Team.

The SPEEDO Juniors is hosted by the Rocky Mountain Synchro Association and the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau.
