Rules and Policies Applicable to Foreign Competitors

[Invitation and Entry Information]

A. FOREIGN FEDERATIONS may enter competitors in U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Championships under the following provisions and regulations:

1. Entries: Foreign athletes may enter only with the written approval of their own Federations.

2. Numbers: Each Federation may enter only 1 routine entry per event in a U.S. Championship. The total number of athletes may not exceed 10.

3. U.S. National Championship:

a. Must be 14 years of age or older based on the year of birth.
b. Shall be conducted in accordance with FINA Rules.
c. Eligibility: Each Federation may enter only their current Senior National Champions and/or members of their current National Team.
d. Not eligible to compete in the Olympic Year.

4. U.S. Senior Open Championship:

a. May not enter if they are the Senior National Champion of their own country.
b. Must be 14 years of age or older based on the year of birth.

5. U.S. Junior and U.S. Junior Open Championships:

a. Must be 14 to 18 years of age based on the year of birth.
b. May not enter if they are the Senior National Champion of their own country.

6. U.S. Age Group Championship: Foreign competitors are not eligible to compete.

7. U.S. Masters Championship: Entries shall not be limited.

B. EVENT PROGRESSION

1. Competitors who qualify for any of the final routine events shall compete in addition to the top qualifying USSS competitors and shall receive an honorary award for their final placement. The USSS competitors shall be listed in final placement and given awards without regard to the placement of foreign competitors. Foreign competitors shall not be eligible to be pre-swimmer(s).
