Riverside Continues 12-13 Lead The Riverside Aquettes continue to dominate the 12-13 semi-finals grabbing the top qualifying spots in the solo and team prelims Sunday at the 2004 Esynchro Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The Aquettes Devon Thrasher added to her duet top honors taking the solo event scoring a 73.900. Mary Killman of the Pirouettes of Texas follows in second at 73.000, while Walnut Creek’s Kellie Stump sits in third at 72.500. In the 12-13 team competition, Riverside continued to shine taking top honors posting a 71.950, only 0.050 points ahead of Santa Clara. Swimming for Riverside was Paige Ramsey, Thrasher, Lauren Nicholson, Kristie Austin, Shelby Nickel, Alicia Bruce, and Victoria Hawes. Swimming for Santa Clara was Hallie Barnes, Miho Ikai, Wendy Lu, Javaneh Nikbakht, Nadia Rais, Audrey Tseng, Catherine Wellman, and Khadija Zanotto. In the 14-15 team semi-final, Riverside took top honors scoring an 82.600. Suncoast Waterworks (Fla.) and Cincinnati hold down second and third place at 78.500 and 78.000 respectively. Swimming for Riverside’s 14-15 squad were Danielle DeCarlo, Jeanine McCullough, Ashley Bennett, Alex Stensby, Cristina Mundy, Amy Horbund, Laila Elsherif, and Amanda Cook. Semi-final scores are weighted to 50 percent and combined with 50 percent of the athlete(s)’s figures score to determine the eight finalists in each event. In the final, the 50 percent free routine semi-final score is replaced with 50 of the final routine score.
