2004 Olympic Games Qualifiers

The 24 duets qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games are:
Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Spain, France, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Ukraine, USA.

The eight teams qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games are:
Canada, China, Spain, Greece, Italy, Japan, Russia, USA.


Note:
After a decision taken by FINA, and based on current practice, the Australian duet and the Egyptian duet will go through to the Olympic Games despite not qualifying via the pre-Olympic tournament. It was discovered after the final results that there would be no representatives of Oceania and Africa at the Olympic Games in the 24 teams qualifying. As it is a rule that all continents must be represented at the Olympic Games, Australia and Egypt will qualify (at the expense of the German duetand the Puerto Rico duet.
