Top songs on your iPod playlist
I love every genre of music; I can't narrow it down to just five. For the next month, I will be listening all day to our four compeition muscial selections. Everyone in a mile radius of the pool where we practice will have no choice but to listen to our music, too. All day.
What is your biggest fashion disaster?
In middle school, I used to wear way too many butterfly hair clips. In the peak of this trend, my hair started to look like a garden with butterfly clips, flower pins and dragonfly barretts. Sometimes, I even wore a matching butterfly ring that fluttered when I moved.
What is your favorite item of clothing?
Right now, my favorites are my Victoria's Secret "boyfriend" sweatpants. They are so big and comfortable, I love putting them on right after a long practice in an arctic pool. Maybe after the Olympics, my favorite clothes won't involve sweats, but for now it's what I live in.
Favorite sports movie
I am a huge fan of a lot of sports movies, but I love "Cool Runnings". It inspires me and makes me laugh every time.
You've just been given $10,000. How do you spend it?
I would travel. For some reason, I've recently been very curious about Siberia, so maybe I'd go there. I also have felt the need to go to Egypt since the sixth grade.
Outside synchronized swimming, what other
athletic feat would you like to try?
I'm open to trying pretty much anything. I'm usually up for a challenge, and I like to mix things up. I really want to swim to Alcatraz, though.
If you could live anywhere in the world, it would be...
Permanently - I would live right here in the USA. There is no place like home. For a short time - I'd have to say Dubrovnik, Croatia or Hawaii. Anywhere close to a beach.
What do you enjoy doing most outside the pool?
It really depends what mood I'm in. If I have practice the next day, I enjoy watching TV, going to the movies, cooking/baking, reading and getting massages, of course. On the weekends, I enjoy going out to dinner, dancing, and pretty much doing anything else with my friends.
Number one thing synchro has taught you
Synchro has taught me countless life lessons, but one that comes to my mind right now is the value of hard work. Our team is at the pool all day just chipping away at what we need to do. We just keep on working and never look back. I will undoubtedly be able to take this skill with me into other aspects of my life.
Who do you look up to the most in the synchro world?
Anna Kozlova. She is a three-time Olympian (once for Russia, twice for USA), and a two-time bronze medalist. The coolest part about her is that if you were to just meet her, you would have no idea how much she has accomplished. She is super humble, and extremely helpful to everyone. Anna is one of the warmest people I have ever met.
