President's Message
From Virginia Jasontek, President USSS; Summer, 2007
Dear Members of United States Synchronized Swimming,
Greetings! As the 2007 competitive Synchronized Swimming season draws to a close, let me congratulate the athletes, coaches and judges on a job well done! We saw many exciting and creative performances that have brought the level of competition to new heights. Also, congratulations to Team USA which brought home the gold from the Pan American Games. This was a proud moment for all of us in United States Synchronized Swimming! Likewise, congratulations to our Junior Team and National Team II for your excellent performances internationally.
The Board of Directors is looking forward to the USAS Convention in Anaheim, Calif. Your input is vitally important and there will be many topics of interest in the committee meetings. As I read the reports coming in from various committees I feel sure that we will be engaging in lively dialogue throughout the week. There is so much work to be accomplished but together we will produce quality programs and new membership and marketing initiatives needed for continued growth. Dynamic educational seminars are planned for Friday morning and of course, there will be important zone and athlete meetings throughout the week, all culminating in a joint Board of Directors/ Board of Governors Meeting on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Let me take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors, the Staff, Committee Chairs and Athlete’s Board for the time and energy you have given to make the Convention meaningful for all members. And special thanks to the Foundation, sponsors and meet hosts for your contributions this year. We look forward to the annual Coaches College this Fall as well as the Masters’ National Championships . The USA is also hosting a FINA Judges School in Fort Lauderdale. Fla. and the USA Olympic Team is off to the FINA World Trophy Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Best of luck to all clubs in the busy pre-season and let’s work to grow membership and new clubs for 2008. The YMCA initiative is going well and we will hear more about this at Convention. Till then, please know that we appreciate your support, we value your opinions and we are anxious to work together this coming year!
Very truly yours,
Ginny Jasontek
