Background Checks
Background Checks and Motor Vehicle Reports
1- Fill out the request form (below) and submit to the Education Director.
2- Complete the self-registration for Criminal Background Check and/or the Motor Vehicle Report (links with registration numbers are below).
3- Allow up to 2 weeks for the determinations to be returned to designated person on the request form.
Dear USA Synchro Members,
US Synchronized Swimming is proud to announce a working partnership with the National Center for Safety Initiatives. We have taken important steps to ensure the highest level of safety within our programs - for the youth participants and also for you, who make the programs a success.
One of these steps is the implementation of a standardized approach to background screening for our coaches and volunteers through the National Center for Safety Initiatives. This includes a comprehensive background screening using the Center's Check it TwiceTM product and a simple "Red Light/Green Light" clearance report, issued in accordance with the Recommended Guidelines® published by the National Council of Youth Sports. We will also have the availability of a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) performed, if desired. This is part of a national movement toward the standardization of safety programs for youth-serving organizations in this country.
Due to an increased interest of our member clubs wanting to perform background checks on staff and employees, we have extended this program to be accessible to all of the clubs within USA Synchro.
The form below must be completed and submitted BEFORE registering for a background check or MVR with NCSI:
Background Check/ Motor Vehicle Report Request Form
The club must submit the above form with a list of names that will have a background check and or MVR performed. This submission should be made to the Education Director, Kevin Warner (contact information below).
-By submitting this list and using this service, the club or individual agrees to be invoiced and pay for the background check and or MVR when complete. (*with the exception of official required National Team background checks) The cost of each check varies and depends on the state.
Criminal Background Check: (used for National Team and club options)
To have a criminal background check performed, click here. A Red or Green Light will be returned to USA Synchro and is good for a 2 year period (rechecked after 1 year) until it is inactive. The registrant (or club of registrant) will be invoiced for this service.
Motor Vehicle Repot:
To have a Motor Vehicle Report performed, click here. A report will be sent to USA Synchro and then forwarded on to the club representative for review. The registrant (or club of registrant) will be invoiced for this service.
