Below you will find a description of each CCP course. Click the level above to go to that specific level directly.
**By January 1, 2010, any coach participating in a US Synchro-sanctioned event must be current in all safety credentials and must have a minimum of Coaches Certification Program (CCP) Level 1.
The USA Synchro Coaching Certification Program Level 1 course is intended as a starting point for coaches. It confirms to the organization, other coaches, judges, and athletes that all coaches have had exposure to a general coaching curriculum. Also, it covers specific synchronized swimming fundamentals, safety/ risk management, ethics, and general training. The Level 1 course creates a common base for all coaches including a new coach just starting out up to the most experienced national level coach.
Course Topics:
- Basic Coaching Philosophy, Objectives, and Styles.
- Physical Fitness and Training Components for Synchronized Swimming
- Overview of Annual Training Plan and Phases
- Risk Management
- Code of Ethics
- Basic Positions and Transitions for Synchronized Swimming (with DVD)
- Participant will take an open book exam and develop coaching philosophy.
Requirements for Certification:
- Be a professional member of USA Synchro.
- Obtain and submit proper safety credentials. (Refer to safety credentials document on website.)
- Pass a written exam.
About Level 1:
- The Level 1 course is designed as an independent study course and is available online. If you cannot access Internet, contact the USA Synchro office.
- The cost for Level 1 is $75.
- There will be a 30 day time limit to complete the course.
- A Level 1 Certificate of Completion will be sent once all requirements are met.
- The Level 1 course will fulfill the requirements of a coach being permitted on deck at any USA Synchro sanctioned meet.

**By January 1, 2013, any coach participating in a US Synchro-sanctioned National event must be current in all safety credentials and must have a minimum of Coaches Certification Program (CCP) Level 2.
The USA Synchro Coaching Certification Program Level 2 course is intended to give coaches an overall exposure to the sport of synchronized swimming. The coach will be able to instruct basic fundamentals, provide teaching progressions, create daily lesson plans, write and teach routines, and establish an initial coaching philosophy. In addition to this synchro specific information, general coaching and coaching duties that are less prevalent will be covered. The Level 2 course provides valuable information that will continue the coach's development and allow the coach to manage a team.

Requirements for Certification:
- Be a professional member of USA Synchro.

- Must have successfully completed the Level 1 CCP course.
- Provide your personal coaching philosophy statement with the registration.
- Attend all sessions of the course.
- Pass a written exam.
About Level 2:
- The Level 2 course is designed as an on-site course with approximately 20 hours of instruction.
- You will be provided with a copy of the text "Successful Coaching" by Rainer Martens.
- The cost for Level 2 is $250.
- The course has a "Learn by Do" section that requires participation in the pool. Proper attire is necessary.
- A Level 2 Certificate of Completion will be sent once all requirements are met.

LEVEL 3 (This course will be available soon)
The USA Synchro Coaching Certification Program Level 3 course is intended to give coaches the opportunity to learn about very specific topics in the sport of synchronized swimming. The coach will be able to choose from a library of topics that include the latest trends in the sport, video from synchro clinics, video from coaches college presentations, judging perspectives, and articles from national team coaches. The Level 3 course provides very specific information that will continue to develop the knowledge of the coach.

- Must have successfully completed the Level 2 CCP course.
- Complete 3 different Level 3 topics.
- Pass any written requirements within the topic.
About Level 3:
- The Level 3 course is designed as an on-line course with an ever growing library of topics.
- The cost for Level 3 is $75 ($25 per topic). Three topics are required to pass the level.
- All the topics in Level 3 will be available to view at anytime.
- A Level 3 Certificate of Completion will be sent once all requirements are met.
